9-5 Original Music Matters
Sadly, many local music venues have been pushing so-called "tribute" bands and seem to have lost their way in terms of offering a thriving creative music scene to the public. They need to get real. Meanwhile, we're bucking the trend (as usual) and forging forward. Gonna keep on writing, recording, and playing music that matters; "till we can't no more...."
6-29 Return of My Father's Place
The legendary New York music venue is re-opening on Friday, June 29. The WellDiggers will be playing with Roomful of Blues on Sunday, July 1. The show is sold out.
5-20 Hope and Fear MkII
Currently working on a remastered version of the 2012 album, "Hope and Fear". The album has been unavailable for quite a while since we sold out all the Cd's. The new (and improved) edition will be ready this summer in both Cd and streaming formats.
2-13 Saints of the Mardi Gras
There's no place in the world that has the style and diversity of music quite like New Orleans. Dixie-land jazz, cajun, zydeco, funk, soul, blues, rock 'n roll, etc. I had the good fortune to see Louie Armstrong perform when I was a young child and as they say, it left it's mark on me. Here's a song from my latest album which celebrates the wonders of New Orleans, Mardi Gras, and Fat Tuesday.
2-10 Mardi Gras Week
The WellDiggers will be celebrating Mardi Gras 2018 with shows scheduled for Sunday, Thursday, and Saturday. Ahhh haaa!
1-14 Last Show at the Lighthouse
After an early afternoon "residential" show at Big Daddy's, Steve was a special guest, joining Ray Lambaise's band for a couple of songs at The Lighthouse. It was the last installment of,"My Father's Place Presents" to be held there. The Lighthouse had been hosting shows this past year during construction of a newly built, "My Father's Place". Throughout the 1970's and 80's the legendary venue featured many up and coming acts such as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Blondie, The Ramones, Charlie Daniels, The Runaways, etc. The new venue will be re-opening in 2018 in Roslyn, NY. The WellDiggers play the new venue on July 1 along with, Roomful of Blues.
