"....The WellDiggers are a band that really should be up there with the leading lights of 'alt country' thanks to their individuality and the high quality that very few if any can improve on."  Mike Morrison, American Roots UK
"...The 10 Welner original songs are reminiscient of John Hiatt during his musically fertile period of, "Riding with the King", "Bring the Family", Stolen Moments" and "Perfectly Good Guitar"... " Francois, Rootsville SWA

The WellDiggers to play, "Benefest", Saturday, August 13
Benefest is a multi-band 2 day event to benefit SUNY Stony Brook, WUSB (90.1fm) radio station. The WellDiggers will be playing once again this year on Saturday at 4:00 pm. Come on down and support this excellent non-commercial, indie radio station.

Sweet Simple Life
A new studio album, currently titled, "Sweet, Simple Life" is in the works and should be ready to roll this fall, 2016. The album will be a so-called, "solo" album, as in, it will be the first album I've recorded without either, Fourteen Feet or The WellDiggers. Most of the sessions are taking place at, Parcheesi Studios in Huntington, NY with co-producer, engineer, and outstanding musician, Bob Stander. The plan is to deliver to you, 11 brand new, toe-tappin', roots-rockin', folkin', and country bluesin' songs to kick around! Check back soon and we'll keep ya posted.

New Album update, rhythm section
In addition to engineering and co-producing, Bob Stander also plays bass on all of the songs, as well as guitar on a "bunch" of 'em. I am delighted to have one of my all-time favorite drummers, Shawn Murray aboard for this album, as well. I remember watching Shawn play, "back in the day", long before I had the pleasure of meeting him, when he was the drummer for the late, great,  Willy Deville!

Tracking Fiddle, Accordion, and Keys
New York's own, Paul Errico joined us at Parcheesi to lay down piano, keys, and accordion tracks. Paul is a wonderful musician who I first heard playing with "another" one of my favorite singer/songwriters named Steve; Steve Forbert! The stars were aligned just as I was about to search for the "right" fiddle player for a couple of songs. As fate would have it I was invited to a Saturday evening house concert featuring, New Orleans fiddle virtuoso, Gina Forsyth. Short story short; I picked Gina up at the airport on that Friday, we downed a tall cup of coffee, and then headed over to the studio to track the tunes.
